Hundreds of people showed up early this morning at the D'Iberville Community Center to attend a job fair.

The fair was hosted by the Scarlet Pearl, the $300 million casino resort under construction in D'Iberville. The casino is looking to hire about 1200 employees in the next two months. Job openings run the gamut, from bartenders, to dealers, to chefs and housekeepers.

Many applicants who showed up today say they feel the Scarlet Pearl will offer them an exciting new career. Meanwhile, company officials say the talent pool is deep on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and they are not worried about filling the positions. The Scarlet Pearl is scheduled to open by the end of this year, and most of the positions will be filled by November.

Doug walker was at the job fair and will have complete details on the story tonight on WLOX news.
