DIAMONDHEAD, MS (WLOX) - With plenty of shopping, a good bit of shade, and a friendly community; the Diamondhead Arts and Crafts Show is a tradition that's been taking place in Diamondhead for more than 30 years.
Pat Sheehy helped organize the Sunday event and says the community tradition benefits the Diamondhead Continuing Education Program.
"This has been wonderful. It's been a community project for 31 years and the people love it and it's just a good neighborhood community fair," said Sheehy.
Wanda Cazaubon set up her booth for the first time, and says meeting new people is a blast, and a feeling that rings true throughout the grounds.
"Oh I'm having a ball, it's even more fun than I thought it was going to be," said Cazaubon.
Laura Cornwell has been a vendor for more than a decade and says she's become friends with neighboring sellers.
"Like the people behind us, we've become really good friends with them and we can't wait to see everybody every year," said Cornwell.
Although there were many newcomers, there was a strong sense of tradition felt all around for venders and patrons alike.
"I live here. I wouldn't miss this for the world," said resident, Janet Parker.
The Diamondhead Arts and Crafts Show happens on the third weekend of September every year, in front of the country club.
