PASS CHRISTIAN, MS (WLOX) -

One of Pass Christian's biggest store openings in recent history had some big names to kick it off.

Robin's Nest in the Pass had its ribbon cutting at its Davis Avenue store front Friday, and owner Dorothy Roberts was overwhelmed by the response to her new venture.

“Opening Robin's Nest in the Pass has been a dream and through the help of so many people,” Dorothy said. “It takes a village to open up a business, and I’ve had that help.”

Dorothy's two sisters were there with her; Robin of Good Morning America and Sally-Ann with WWL-TV in New Orleans.

“This isn’t even the opening and look at all the people here,” Robin said. “There’s no place like home. No place like home.”

It was equally impressive to Sally-Ann, who added, “What a beautiful way to remember our parents, and to honor them..."

Pass Christian resident, Ricky Ingargiola, was best friends with the sister's parents, Lucimarian and Lawrence Roberts.

“To me, it means that Lucimarian and Larry Roberts are here with us. That’s what it means to me. And just the growth in Pass Christian is just fantastic.”

Dorothy has been renovating the building since October; an artisan shop filled with glass ware, pottery and other art from artists all along the Coast. Named in honor of Robin’s love for Pass Christian, the store even features pieces from Dorothy; who has been making jewelry for about 12 years.

“It bears my name in name only. There’s angels out front representing the three sisters: Dorothy, Sally-Ann and Robin,” said Robin. “The next is our big brother. And there’s something about the word nest. It's nurturing."

The grand opening will be held 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. September 19, regular hours will be Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
