Jones beat Pearl River Community College 34-6 Thursday night

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Pearl River opened the season with a win.  Since that victory the Wildcats have dropped 3 straight games to fall to 0-2 in the MACJC South Division standings.  Jones is 2-2 overall and 2-0 in the South Division.

Pearl River had a number of opportunities in the first half.  The Wildcats missed two field goals and an extra-point , dropped two potential interceptions.

PRCC head coach William Jones said, "You just can't give the ball over to anybody, good team or bad team.  When you give them the ball back, when you give them a short field, you're not going to win.  We're just making too many errors.

The Wildcats scored their only points on a 13-yard touchdown pass from Matt Williams to tight end Will Inlow in the second quarter.

Williams connected on 12 of 19 pass attempts for 153 yards and the one touchdown.

"I thought he did a good job of managing the offense, "stated Jones.  "We didn't kick the ball exceptionally well, and that left us down.  We had a chance to take the lead and weren't able to capitalize on it."

Tevin Moore scored two touchdowns for Jones.  Eric Barnes picked up a fumble on a kickoff return and ran 17 yards for a Bobcats touchdown.  He also ran back an interception 49 yards for his second touchdown.
