Ole Miss Baseball Coach A Chip Off The Old Skip Bertman

One main reason for the Ole Miss Rebels success, new head coach Mike Bianco. He comes from good stock, a former player and assistant at LSU under lengendary coach Skip Bertman. He helped the Tigers claim three National Championships before taking over the head coaching job at McNeese State leading the Cowboys to 100 wins 71 losses and trip to the NC-Double-A regionals.

Mike is now pulling his magic at Ole Miss. How much influence has Skip Bertman had on Bianco? Mike said, "Just about everything we do is very similar to what we brought from there. The system that we implemented here is what I've learned from Skip. I wouldn't be standing here today at Ole Miss if it wasn't for coach Skip Bertman. Obviously he's meant so much to me personally in my career."

Chad Sterbens, the Rebels leading hitter knows Mike Bianco is the main cog that has Ole Miss rolling in the right direction. Chad said, "It's awesome. No one wants to win more than him. It's great. The attitude is so up and we're just ready to win every time we step on the field. That's the only thing we accept. Winning is the bottom line."

Mike Bianco and his Rebels travel to Baton Rouge facing LSU and his mentor, Skip Bertman in a crucial three-game series beginning Friday night.
