Just last week, Sarah Bailey Thomas went to work. She performed her job just like everyone else who went to work last week, got paid. But Sarah Bailey Thomas is not just like everyone else.
September 13, when she went to work, she took a spot in the work force that has always been occupied by a man. And it's a highly sought after position and difficult to beat out the competition. But Thomas got the job as a National Football League referee and stepped on the field in her first regular season game.
Our congratulations to Sarah Thomas, a native of Pascagoula, for breaking the gender barrier one more time.
