BILOXI, MS (WLOX/AP) -

After sweeping Pensacola in the divisional round of the playoffs the Biloxi Shuckers are gearing up for a chance to win the Southern League Title. To do that, Biloxi must beat the Chattanooga Lookouts. Chattanooga won its series Monday night, earning a berth in the Southern League championship series. That series begins Wednesday night at MGM Park.

A memorable first season for the Biloxi Shuckers continued to unfold Saturday night in Pensacola when the team swept Pensacola to advance to the championship series in the Double A Southern League. When the team moved to the coast, the organization and baseball fans had to wait for MGM Park to be game ready. A historic road trip made the inaugural season unique.

"Every time you told this team something couldn't be done they defied the odds. It was drawn out on the national stage with ESPN following us along the way. This is a special group of guys who are starting their careers and it's something they'll remember the rest of their lives," said Media Director Chris Harris.

Tickets have gone on sale at MGM Park for the Championship series against either Montgomery or Chattanooga. Fans are excited about seeing a dramatic series on the coast that could lead to a league title.

Brian Donovan picked up his tickets Monday morning. "It's the excitement of the game. I love the game and it's fun at every level. We're just glad to be here," Donovan said.

The Shuckers will host games one and two. The series will get underway Wednesday.
