Hancock quarterback Aaron Feazelle is 6-3, 210 pounds and his passing game was right on target last Friday, leading the Hawks past rival Bay High 41-33. Feazelle completed 15 of 20 passes for 289 yards and five touchdowns. He added 77 yards rushing.
Feazelle is the WLOX Player of the Week.
Feazelle said, "It was a good team effort. Our defense held it down for us and our receivers ran good routes. They knew what they were doing. Prepped very well for this game. He added, "I feel very confident. A lot of reps, a lot of things like that. People giving me confidence, other players on the team telling me I can do stuff like that , helps me a lot."
Head coach Rocky Gaudin says Feazelle played a little quarterback during his sophomore season. The ball is in his hands now and he's responded by passing for 504 yards and 6 touchdowns.
"He's worked hard since the end of last year to get ready to play quarterback, "stated Gaudin. "He's physically strong. He can stand in the pocket and take a lick. He's run the ball real well for us."
Feazelle will run over would be tacklers using his size to pick up 321 yards rushing and 4 TDs.
Heath Dedeaux has become Feazelle's top receiver, having hauled in three touchdowns.
