SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - Visit Mississippi Gulf Coast's Executive Director, Renee Areng, said tourism is looking up as she presented the group's new proposed budget to the Harrison County Board of Supervisors. The budget for 2016 is $4 million.
While that figure is far less than the budgets of other tourism bureaus in the region, Areng says she's confident the Coast will be able to compete.
She told the board about a new digital marketing campaign featuring #MSCOASTLIFE. Areng said upcoming campaigns will feature people sharing stories of the Gulf Coast and why this place is unique.
Steve Phillips will have more on the story tonight on WLOX News and WLOX.com.
