D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX)

First responders in D'Iberville enjoyed a special lunch while working on this Labor Day. A trio of Olive Garden employees delivered a free lunch to the D'Iberville Police Department and Fire Station One.

This marks the 14th consecutive year the popular Italian restaurant has provided a Labor Day luncheon to first responders.

Veteran firefighter Jay Williams says the gesture of support is very much appreciated. Police Lt. Tony Myers said community support is the "backbone" of law enforcement. He was thankful for the gesture.
"Other restaurants in the community have also delivered meals, and it's very much appreciated," said Myers.
Across the nation, some 800 Olive Garden restaurants are delivering meals to police, firefighters and medics.
Steve Phillips will have more on this story of community support tonight on WLOX News and WLOX.com.
