2 men arrested for allegedly robbing Long Beach business at gunpoint

LONG BEACH, MS (WLOX) -

Two Gulfport, Mississippi men are behind bars Friday after police say they robbed a Long Beach business at gunpoint on Thursday. 

According to the Long Beach Police Department, 28-year-old Juarez A. Jackson and 20-year-old Darius N. Johnson Jr. reportedly robbed a check advance business at gunpoint, stealing more than $1,000.

Following a short car chase with police, both suspects were taken into custody and the money was recovered. 

Jackson has been charged with armed robbery and is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on a $250,000 bond. Johnson has been charged with armed robbery and felony eluding, and also remains in the HCADC on a $150,000 bond.

    The Mississippi Attorney General’s Office and Secretary of State’s Office join the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and law enforcement officials and charity regulators from every state, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, and Puerto Rico in announcing “Operation Donate with Honor,” an education campaign alerting donors to fundraising solicitations falsely promising donations to veterans and service members.
