New name, new sound for Biloxi nightclub

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - The Kress Building in historic Vieux Marche' opened in July of 2014 with the intent to bring big shows to the coast under the Kress Live brand. The 20,000 square foot venue is now being marketed as Coast Country.

"There have been country venues in the past here. They were very successful. There's been a lack of one on the coast in the past five or six years. We spent a lot of money renovating this building and it needs to be used to its full potential," said co-owner Nick Quave.

The new focus means a DJ will play country music Friday and Saturday nights, and there will be line dancing lessons and other features with a country flavor like a mechanical bull.

"We'll bring in local country acts as well as live performances from national acts", Quave added.

Management would also like to continue to bring other genres of music through connections made by the Kress Live promotional side of the business, but the emphasis will be on country music.

Coast Country will be open from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday
