Tourism bureau rebrands, will roll out new campaign

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau has a new name and logo.

It has been re-branded Visit Mississippi Gulf Coast. A new motto that promotes tourism on the coast also comes with the logo: "Stay awhile. You'll get it."

Executive director Renee Areng says this new name calls attention to the travel and destination rather than the organization. She also says Visit MS Gulf Coast is about to do a perception study nation wide to see how the brand is being perceived by the travelers.

"All of our messaging is about driving travel here," said Areng. "So what they hear and they see and they understand or feel about the coast is what we want to parlay to them. So getting their perceptions is vital in how we target our messaging."

Soon you will start to see a new hashtag campaign rolling out to all industry partners called #MSCoastLife.
