Baton Rouge, LA (WLOX) - Drinking too much coffee led to a hospital visit by Tigers head coach Les Miles.
The LSU head coach said, "I did in fact have too much coffee to drink today. I certainly did not feel great about that. I had a very quality medical staff that decided I should go get some examination and testing. They did a good job, took care of me and I appreciated it very much and now I want everybody to know everything is fine, I'm ready to roll."
Miles attended the Tigers afternoon practice and later announced that quarterback Brandon Harris will start for the 14th ranked Tigers in Saturday's season opener against McNeese State in Baton Rouge beginning at 6:30.
"He has done everything we've asked him to and continued to improve, "Miles stated. "Both quarterbacks can play, both are improved, they continue to compete. I wouldn't hesitate if need be, to play either one."
Anthony Jennings was the Tigers starting quarterback last season, a year when LSU slipped to 8-5.
Harris started the Auburn game last season and didn't fare too well. He completed three of 14 passes for 58 yards as Auburn crushed LSU 41-7.
However, Harris gained weight and has displayed an ability to run the Tigers offense.
