GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Thursday night's Business After Hours for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce comes full circle.
Gulf Strong, Coast Proud will be at Hancock Bank in downtown Gulfport, the site of the first Business After Hours networking meeting just two months after Hurricane Katrina.
The first meeting was about surviving. There were no amenities, not even lights. It was held outside on the grounds of the bank in the shadow of a building that sustained heavy damage, and portable lights and toilets were brought in. Those who were there say it was one of the most important business meetings they had ever had.
However, Thursday night's meeting will be about friends and celebrate the recovery and anyone is invited.
Around 400 people are expected to attend. Hancock Bank president and CEO, John Hairston, and Chamber executive director Kimberly Nastasi will be there as guest speakers.
Mike Lacy will be covering the event and will have more on WLOX News and WLOX.com.
