MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) - In a statement released by the Moss Point School District Tuesday evening, Moss Point High School students will not attend school on Wednesday August 26.
Officials say the additional day of canceled classes is to "allow the completion of the smoke removal and cleaning process." The school district is waiting for final clearance by the building inspector to ensure a safe return for students and faculty.
Officials project that students will return to class on Thursday, August 27, additional details on class location will be announced once it is finalized.
Classes at the high school have been canceled since Monday, after a fire broke out around midnight.
