JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - The Jackson County Sheriff's Department has confirmed that 44-year-old youth football coach Randall Everage Caudell has been arrested for possession of methamphetamine.
According to officials, deputies stopped Caudell on LeMoyne Boulevard near Laura Acres Drive around 8:30 p.m. on Monday for a possible switched tag. Caudell, who had his children as well as several other children in the vehicle at the time, stated that he was returning from a football game in Biloxi.
Upon further investigation, deputies discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Caudell was then arrested and all five children were released to parents.
Caudell is currently being held in the Jackson County Adult Detention Center, and the case has been turned over to the Jackson County Metro Enforcement Team. It is unknown at this time when Caudell will appear before a judge. If convicted Caudell faces and imprisonment of not more than eight years, and potentially a $50,000 fine.
It was initially reported that Caudell told deputies he was a youth coach at D'Ibverville, but it has since been confirmed that he is not.
