Tropical Storm Erika forms in the Atlantic

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - Danny is gone, but Erika is just getting started. Tropical Storm Erika formed late Monday evening and is moving west at 20 mph.

The storm is currently located well east of the Lesser Antilles and is expected to follow near the same path Danny did.

Current sustained winds in the storm are 45 mph, and the pressure is 1003 mb. The storm is expected to stay a tropical storm through the next five days as it approaches the Bahamas with 70 mph sustained winds in the forecast track released by the National Hurricane Center.
