STONE COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - T.J. Hughes is in the Stone County Hospital this morning. Authorities found Hughes just after sunrise in the woods near Flint Creek. They say he seemed okay physically. But, because he was missing for two days, a trip to the hospital was necessary.
The 69-year-old man disappeared Saturday. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation issued a Silver Alert, hoping that would get more people involved in the search.
Stone County Sheriff Mike Farmer says a Mississippi Highway Patrol helicopter spotted Hughes around 7:00 Monday morning in a wooded area behind Flint Creek.
During the search, investigators said Hughes suffers from Alzheimer's disease. He is from Liberty, Mississippi. He reportedly walked away from his car sometime Saturday, and got lost in the woods.
