SAUCIER, MS (WLOX) - New fitness equipment arrived at Saucier Elementary just in time for the new school year. On Thursday, physical education teachers and students got their first look at the new pieces.
Thanks to a $26,000 Project Fit America grant, the school received seven exercise stations, weighted hula hoops, balls and jump ropes. As part of the grant, PE teachers will use a brand new physical fitness curriculum and track the body mass index of around 75 students during the next two years.
Tune in to WLOX TV at 5, as reporter Trang Pham Bui gives an inside look at how the school is preparing to get fit.
