Red Cross to hold 9th Annual Hurricane Katrina blood drive

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

The Red Cross invites the public to help someone in need by donating blood. The blood drive is at Edgewater Mall on Saturday, August 29 from noon to 7 p.m. and on Sunday, August 30 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

“Donors will not only pay tribute to those impacted by the storm, but honor those who provided support following the hurricane’s destruction. Through their efforts, patients can receive the blood products they need,” said Mario Sedlock, Red Cross Donor Recruitment Director.

All presenting donors will receive a gift certificate from Marble Slab, a “Dr. Pepper 10” soft drink, an Edgewater Mall tote bag, Dominos Pizza in the canteen and a commemorative T-shirt, while supplies last.

To make an appointment to donate, call 1 800-RED-CROSS, visit redcrossblood.org or download the Red Cross Blood Donor app. Use sponsor code: Katrina Walk-ins are welcome.
