MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) - The family of six that was left homeless after a fire tore through their Moss Point home Saturday now have temporary shelter.
Drummond Realty and T Smith Investments are currently giving more than 30 units at Jasmine Place Apartments near Frederick Street in Moss Point a makeover.
They offered the fire victims one of the newly renovated apartments free of charge until they get back on their feet.
One of the owners Josh Drummond said they had to find a way to help after seeing the family lose everything.
"We like to help the community. It is not all about making money. My house has had problems. I was hit by lighting, and my neighbors helped me. So, it is nice to give back to the community," said Josh Drummond, Drummond Realty.
Moss Point Fire officials say the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
