Gulfport Police arrest dozens in massive crime crackdown

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Gulfport’s "criminal subculture" took a big hit in recent months, according to Police Chief Leonard Papania. Over the past four months, Gulfport police have executed 50 search warrants, netting 30 felony arrests and 85 misdemeanor arrests. Police also recovered eight firearms and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Papania said the operation to clean up the streets of his city has been a partnership between his department, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, the Coastal Narcotics Enforcement Team, ATF, FBI and DEA.

Here is a list of those arrested in the crime roundup:

Elton Jerome Bishop, 62, charged with sale of cocaine base ($50,000 bond)

Timothy Tyrone Brown, 29, charged with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine base ($200,000 bond)

Kimberly Anne Stiglets, 43, felony fleeing and eluding ($50,000 bond)

Sharon Denise Jeffrey, 58, sale of cocaine base ($10,000 bond)

Sherry Elaine Spencer, 48, sale of cocaine base ($25,000 bond)

Vernon Michael Smith, 32, sale of cocaine base ($25,000 bond)

Leaundre Darvarus Young, 24, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine base and possession of marijuana ($25,000 bond)

Arthur Sherlock Freites, Jr., 18, sale of marijuana ($10,000 bond)

Jarvis Marcel Hooker, 36, possession with the intent to distribute spice ($10,000 bond)

Stephen Byron Hicks, 37, sale of pharmaceuticals (Off Bond)

Carlin Decedrius Whitfield, 18, aggravated assault warrant ($500,000 bond)

Roosevelt Morgan White, 31, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana ($50,000 bond)

Marilyn Garcia, 32, three counts of sale of pharmaceuticals ($150,000 bond)

Reginald Earl Jones, 36, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana ($200,000 bond)

Frederick Earl Buckhalter, 51, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine base ($25,000 bond)

Aritha Ann Mills, 43, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine base ($25,000 bond)

Angela Sharron Johnson, 42, possession with the intent to distribute pharmaceuticals ($25,000)

Vernon Davies, 55, possession of a stolen vehicle ($35,000 bond)

Wilfredo Arango Calle, 27, identity theft warrant ($10,000 bond)

Frederick Lee Plummer, 37, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana ($100,000 bond)

Shanna Lamer Barnes, 20, possession of a stolen firearm ($50,000 bond)

Dwayne James Lizana, 23, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana ($30,000 bond)

Richard Kendrail Blevin, 32, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine ($100,000 bond)

Joseph Leon Reddix, 37, possession of methamphetamine ($50,000 bond)

Megan Lynn Hammack, 34, identity theft/fugitive ($50,000 bond)

Jason Earl James, 35, burglary of a storage shed ($20,000 bond)

Earnest Alexander Pettis, 30, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana ($100,000 bond)

Antonio Lorenzo Hoggan, 33, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine (No bond)
