The Biloxi Elite Swim Team placed third in the State Finals

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Forty-one swimmers from the Biloxi Elite Swim team competed over a four-day weekend and when the competition ended, Biloxi placed third.

Gabrielle Ivy, a 7th grader from Ocean Springs didn't take a backseat to no one.  She captured twelve 1st place medals, one 2nd place and piled up 140 points for the team. She was the High Point Winner in the Girls 11-12 age group.

17-year-old Kyjana Weber from Harrison Central racked up six 1st place medals and one 2nd place and totaled 120 points.  She was the High Point Winner in the Girls 17-18 age group.

Sean Dellinger, a 17-year-old swimmer from Harrison Central capture four 1st place medals and accumulated 119 points.  Besides taking the High Point Runner Up in the 17-18 Boys, Sean earned his first AAAA in the 50-meter freestyle.

14-year-old Caitlin Chandler of Vancleave won one 1st place medal, six 2nd place medals and a 3rd place.

13-year-old Catherine Passarelli of Ocean Springs captured 1st and 2nd place medals.

To recognize the great success at the State Meet, the Biloxi Best Elite Team will hold an awards banquet August 13th at 6:00 p.m. at the Frank Gruich Community Center located on at 591 Howard Avenue.
