BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

The strong line of severe thunderstorms that raced through South Mississippi Saturday night blew down tree limbs, and knocked out power to thousands of homes and businesses across the coast.

As of 5:00 Sunday morning, Singing River Electric still had seven customers without electricity. Those customers live in Greene, George, Jackson and Perry Counties. Click on this link to see the Singing River Electric outage map.

At one point, nearly 3,000 Singing River customers were in the dark, as were hundreds of Mississippi Power homeowners.

The thunderstorms packed wind gusts of at least 60 miles per hour.

Spokesmen for the utility companies said their emergency worked overnight to make sure the power came back on as quickly as possible.
