Biloxi Shuckers ready to open a 10-game home series on Friday after losing to Mobile 4-2

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - The Biloxi Shuckers setback to the BayBears drops the Southern League baseball team to a game under .500 in the second half.  The BayBears ended the Shuckers string of two-straight series victories.

Biloxi starting pitcher Hobbs Johnson (7-5) gave up one run on three hits and three walks in four innings.

Mobile (24-15) scored the games first run in the third innings on a single off the bat of Garret Weber.

The BayBears struck for another run in the fifth off reliever Martin Viramontes who gave up a lead-off triple by Jack Reinheimer to lead off the inning and scored off a sacrifice fly by Zach Borenstein.

The Shuckers battled back with a run in the sixth inning.  Nathan Orf who went 2 for 4, singled with one out and raced to third base on a double by Taylor Green.  Victor Roach hit a grounder to short and Orf galloped home.

Orlando Arcia had his hitting streak snapped at eight games when he went 0-for-3.

Biloxi returns home to MGM Park beginning 7:10 Friday night for a 10-game homestand.  The Shuckers will entertain the Mississippi Braves for a five-game series .  Right-handed pitcher Jorge Lopez (10-4, 2.52 ERA) will get the starting call for the Shuckers.  The Braves have tabbed Greg Ross (5-9, 4.42 ERA) to get the starting nod on Friday.
