For one night in October after the Biloxi Shuckers end their baseball season, MGM Park will still be the site of strikes.
Instead of balls being thrown, punches and kicks will be delivered inside a cage set up on the baseball field with live mixed martial arts fights.
Promoter Glenn Mattina of Atlas Fights has been working with Tim Bennett of Overtime Sports to finalize a date for a unique event being billed as "Battle at the Park."
Mattina said, "This will be a rain or shine event. If weather does not permit the event from happening here at MGM Park, it will be moved to a venue inside. Also, Atlas Fights 26 will feature some of the most talented athletes in the region with eight athletes competing for four championship title belts."
Aaron "Yoda" Williams will defend his Atlas Fights Bantamweight Championship. He's from Ocean Springs. Rance Jones, Jr. puts on Welterweight title on the line. Atlas Fights Welterweight Champ Robert Turnquest and Featherweight Champion Jason "The Kid" Knight of D'Iberville will step into the cage to defend their respective title belts.
