Long Beach moves forward with slab ordinance

LONG BEACH, MS (WLOX) - If you live in Long Beach, you will have to remove any slabs left behind on your property from Hurricane Katrina.

The Long Beach Board of Aldermen passed that motion this week. The new ordinance goes into effect in 30 days.

Once property owners are notified, they have to take action immediately to clean up their property of any pre-used, dilapidated, or deteriorated slabs constructed before Hurricane Katrina. Otherwise, the city will be forced to remove the slab.
