The Aug. 29 anniversary of Hurricane Katrina is the date for a special musical event at MGM Park in Biloxi. Concert for the Coast will be an evening of music to mark the 10 years of recovery that's taken place since the storm.
Headliners include Dr. John and Trombone Shorty. The Coast's own Rosco Bandana will be the opening act. Tickets go on sale next week and will be priced at $45, $35 and $25.
The concert begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29. Earlier that day, at 9 a.m., there will be a Katrina memorial service held at MGM Park to remember those lost in the storm and honor the thousands of volunteers and first responders who came to the aid of the Mississippi Gulf Coast in the wake of Katrina.
Steve Phillips was on hand for the big announcement this afternoon. Look for his story tonight on WLOX News and WLOX.com.
