The past meets the present at latest Katrina +10 event

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Biloxi's current and former mayors headlined the latest "Katrina +10" event on Sunday.

Mayor FoFo Gilich was joined by former Mayor A.J. Holloway at the Ohr-O'Keefe Museum.

They both signed copies of a commemorative photo album and DVD about the "Katrina +10" exhibition.

"It's great to be here and review some of the progress we've made and just understand how biblical this Katrina was to us," said Gilich.

Those in attendance also were shown a video about a speech Holloway made to the U.S. Conference of Mayors just six months after Hurricane Katrina.

"It was great to see Mayor Holloway's speech before the U.S. Conference of Mayors, bringing things to mind to the rest of the country," said Gilich. "We couldn't have recovered without those funds and without that effort to rebuild. We're still rebuilding though."

The program was free to attend. Visitors also had the option to purchase the "Katrina +10" book and DVD for $20 each.
