Top prospects from the Milwaukee Brewers, the New York Yankees, Kansas City Royals, Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals will comprise the Surprise Saguaros.
Besides Carlos Subero who will serve as the teams manager, the Surprise will have pitching coaches Jose Rosado of the Yankees and Carlos Reyes of the Royals. Bobby Rose of the Rangers will be the hitting coach and the Masa Koyanagi of the Royals and Brent Neuharth of the Cardinals will serve as the trainers.
Subero guided the Shuckers to the first half title of the Southern League South Division posting a league-best 43-35 record. In 14 seasons, Subero has piled up 855 wins. He's in his second season in the Brewers organization as manager of the Double-A level team.
Subero led the Huntsville Stars to a 77-63 record and a post season berth last season.
He managed in the Dodgers organization for five seasons at Class-A Inland Empire, Double-A Chattanooga, and Class-A Rancho Cucamonga.
He led the Chattanooga Lookouts to the plays in 2011 after clinching the Southern League's second-half North Division title with a 42-27 record after the All-Star break.
