GEORGE COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - The man who was wanted in George County for allegedly robbing a convenience store Monday night was arrested Thursday in Mobile County, AL.
George County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Shonna Pierce said Richard J. Phillips, 23, was arrested around 8 p.m. in Prichard in the same area where his accomplice was arrested Wednesday evening.
Phillips is charged with robbery and vehicle theft. His alleged accomplice, 26-year-old Destiny Ann Worth, is charged with accessory after the fact.
Phillips is accused of robbing the Superstore #2 on Highway 26 in the Central community of George County. Pierce said he also stole a Volkswagen Jetta from Mobile County, and that's what deputies found him driving before they arrested him. He will also face questioning in relation to several robberies in the Mobile County area.
Sheriff Dean Howell said Phillips and Worth had been hiding out in Wilmer, AL, and the Central community of George County. Howell warned the community that Phillips should be considered armed and dangerous.
