Man found in Jackson Co. being held by Immigration and Customs

GAUTIER, MS (WLOX) -

A man who's already been deported to Mexico at least four times has once again been found in the U.S. this time in Jackson County. Ramon Benitez-Mendoza, 41, was arrested by Gautier police in January of this year for trying to cash a forged check at M & M Bank and disobeying a police officer.

He was first deported in 1994 from Texas, and he was deported from Arizona less than a year later. After re-entering the country without permission at least twice more after that, he was deported from Texas in 2004 and 2014.

For now, he's being held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Gulfport.
