Ben Howland and his Mississippi State Bulldogs will tip-off the 2015-16 season November 13, a date with Eastern Washington inside Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville.
Howland said, "I'm excited about our schedule. Eastern Washington will be a tough opener. They were in the NCAA tournament last year and are very well coached. They have the core of their team returning and they will prove to be a competitive start for us."
The Eagles netted a 26-9 record a year ago and lost to Georgetown in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. George Washington were regular-season Big Sky co-champions and won the conference tournament to punch their ticket to the Big Dance.
Mississippi State's non-conference lineup of 12 games, include six home games in Starkville. Coach Howland and his Bulldogs will play at the Puerto Rick Tip-Off Classic, two on the road at Missouri-Kansas City on December 12 and Florida State on December 16, and a December 23 clash in Jackson, Mississippi against Northern Colorado.
Bulldog fans will get an early look at Howland's team on November 6 against Fort Valley State in an exhibition game.
