Gulfport police officials suspect one man is behind a string of gas station robberies this month.
The Chevron on Kelly Avenue was the first gas station to be robbed on July 12. Gulfport police say the black male suspect went into the Chevron with a handgun, demanded money and then left after taking an unknown amount of cash.
On July 16, another Chevron gas station on 30th Avenue was robbed. The same black male suspect carrying a gun was described to officials.
Two days later, a third robbery at the Exxon located on 30th Avenue was reported. All three robberies occurred around 9 p.m.
In each case, the robber was identified as a medium built, black male wearing a hat and sunglasses.
Gulfport Police Department Sgt. Damon McDaniel says authorities believe the same suspect is responsible for robbing all three locations.
Gas station surveillance cameras have captured images of the suspect who officials say should be considered armed and dangerous.
McDaniel said the investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to contact Gulfport Police Department at 228-868-5959 or Crime Stoppers at 877-787-5898.
