Christmas in July: Volunteers needed to spread holiday cheer

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX)

The holiday season is months away, but The Salvation Army is working now to make sure all children on the Coast have smiles on their faces Christmas morning.

The organization needs volunteers to help with the Angel Tree registration. The program helps families who can’t afford to provide their children with Christmas gifts.

A large amount of volunteers are needed at the Gulfport Area Command building from Monday, Oct. 12 to Friday, Oct. 16.

Officials are looking for people to help out from 9 a.m. to noon, as well as from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Salvation Army says volunteers are not required to stay for an entire day. Any amount of time you are willing to help out would be beneficial.

If you can potentially help call (228) 207-2303.
