WLOX Editorial: Our leaders in Washington have a moral obligation to adequately fund our military
As we approach the end of another Federal budget year we continue to see more defense programs sacrificed. The Army is planning to cut another 40,000 soldiers and the cuts continue for all branches of the military.
It has been 4 years since the Budget Control Act was passed. While entitlement programs grow, our nation's defense is cut and our security weakens. Our leaders in Washington have a moral obligation to adequately fund our military.
The world is scarier these days. We need to make sure that we are backing those who wear the uniform with the best training, best equipment and the best people; so they survive when we send them into harm's way for our nation.
