MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) -

Racist words showed up on a city welcome sign in Moss Point Monday morning. A photo of the damaged sign on Jefferson Street was sent to the WLOX Facebook page. Moss Point's logo is obscured by the words "KKK" and "White Power."

Moss Point Police Chief Art McLung told WLOX News his department is investigating the crime and checking for surveillance video from area merchants to try to identify the vandals.

Monday morning, city workers were already working to remove what appeared to be white spray paint.

David Elliott is following this story and will have more details later today on WLOX News and WLOX.com.
