JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

If you are traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 through Jackson County, you can expect some traffic delays as you approach the long bridge over the Pascagoula River.

Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Cpl. Benjamin Seibert said a two vehicle accident had the interstate shut down for about 30 minutes Friday evening.

He said the wreck happened around 6:30 p.m. near mile marker 65.

Seibert said one eastbound lane over the bridge is now open. It is unclear if anyone was injured in the accident.

Roads near Highway 90 and Highway 63 in Pascagoula opened this morning. Police removed barricades at 3:15 a.m. after experts determined a chemical leak no longer posed a threat. Emergency teams determined an empty rail car was the source of that leak. They tell WLOX News Now they contacted Chevron officials to make the necessary repairs.
