GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -
The Humane Society of South Mississippi is facing overcrowding issues. The facility is designed to house 300, and it is currently caring for 323 dogs and cats. Taking a lighthearted approach to a serious issue, HSSM is hosting a adoption promotion. Dog (And Cat) Days of Summer" offers a pick-your-price adoptions July 8 through July 11. In lieu of regular adoption fees, HSSM will simply ask for a donation plus a $5 tag fee for the adoption of a pet.  
As usual, all adoptions come with a comprehensive package (a $250+ value), including:

-          Up-to-date vaccinations

-          Free vet visit within 7 days of adoption

HSSM is open for adoptions 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
