Harrison Co. supervisors want to see long range plans for fairgrounds

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

"It's a diamond in the rough that just needs a little polishing," said Harrison County Supervisor Joe Meadows, as he presented a proposal for developing a long range plan for the Harrison County fairgrounds.

The board of supervisors voted to hire South Mississippi Planning and Development District to create a long range master plan for the county fairgrounds. The cost of developing the long range plan will be about $45,000.

SMPDD expects to present the master plan to the county in March 2016. Creating the master plan will involve a review of existing facilities and practices, meetings with stakeholders and recommendations for improvements.
