The Dupont plant in Delisle officially has a new name, and a new set of executives. The Chemours Company has completed its spin-off from DuPont.
"We bring to the market a rich heritage based on our DuPont legacy and built on industry leadership and innovation adding the energy and agility of a customer-centered, global business fresh out of the starting gate," said Mark Vergnano, president and chief executive officer of Chemours.
“We are excited to be part of this new company, and to represent Chemours within our local community,” said Mark Smith, DeLisle plant manager. “We are now part of an independent company with a global reach and leadership in our key markets. At the same time, here in Harrison County, our site will continue to be run by the same team as before, and we will continue to be a proud member of the community.”
The Chemours Company is a global chemical company with market positions in titanium technologies, fluoroproducts and chemical solutions.The Chemours site in Harrison County supports the Chemours titanium technologies business and produces titanium dioxide (TiO2) pigment, used as a whitening agent in paints, paper, and plastics. The site has been in operation since 1979 and is one of the largest TiO2 plants in the world. ?
"This plant was an integral part of the success of the Titanium Technologies business when it was part of DuPont, and we will continue to help this business be successful now that we’re Chemours," Smith said.
