JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Jackson County supervisors have hired attorney Billy Guice to move forward with suing Singing River Health System's former accounting firm, KPMG LLP.

KPMG is the firm accused of misleading and overstating SRHS's income and causing an $88 million shortfall at the hospital.

Guice will be hired on a contingent basis, meaning if the lawsuit is successful, Guice will take home 20 percent of whatever is recovered. If the lawsuit is not successful, Guice will receive nothing.

Patrice Clark is covering the story. She will tell you more tonight on WLOX News and WLOX.com.
