Biloxi resident shines in Miss Mississippi pageant

VICKSBURG, MS (WLOX) -

Michaela Moore is making her hometown proud at the 2015 Miss Mississippi Pageant. The Biloxi resident won the talent competition on Friday, the final night of preliminary competition.

Michaela, Miss Leaf River Valley, impressed the judges with her rendition of "They Just Keep Moving the Line" from the TV show "Smash".

Michaela is currently a student at the University of Southern Mississippi, majoring in Voice and Public Relations. Her platform at the Miss Mississippi Pageant is "Shining a Light on Life", suicide prevention.

Miss University of Southern Mississippi, Hannah Roberts was Friday night's swim wear winner. Roberts' was also the winner of Wednesday night's talent preliminary.

You can watch the final night of  the 2015 Miss Mississippi Pageant, Saturday at 8 p.m., live on WLOX-ABC. The event will also be streamed live on wlox.com.
