BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

A Gulfport woman is facing felony shoplifting charges for allegedly attempting to steal $1,200 worth of merchandise from the Belk's Department Store in Edgewater Mall.

Biloxi police Investigator Nick Sonnier said Elexis Dominc Larue, 18, was working with a juvenile to steal merchandise from the store Tuesday.

Sonnier said Larue and the juvenile were taken into custody after a Belk's loss prevention officer spotted her concealing more than $1,200 worth of merchandise that had been on display.

Sonnier said during the investigation, Larue told officers she was a juvenile. After discovering her true identity, Larue was also charged with providing false information to an officer.

She was taken to the Harrison County Jail where she was held on a $5,000 bond. She has since bonded out.
