Southern League All-Star Game: North Division dominated South Division 9-0

MONTGOMERY, AL - The Southern League North Division All-Stars exploded for 4 runs in the bottom of the second inning at Riverwalk Stadium.  Dan Vogelbach of the Tennessee Smokies smoked a ball over the right field wall, a three-run blast, and the North All-Stars were off and running.  

Tim Anderson made it 4-0 after two innings.  The former East Central Community College standout tripled home the final run in the inning. Robert Stephenson suffered the loss.  He gave up 4 runs (2 earned) on 2 hits, 2 base on balls and one strikeout.

Anderson went 2 for 3 on the night and doubled off Biloxi Shuckers pitcher Jorge Lopez in the bottom of the fourth inning.  Anderson would come home on a single off the bat of Johnny Field of the home standing Montgomery Biscuits that gave the North Division a 5-0 advantage. Lopez pitched one inning, gave up 2 hits, one run with 2 strikeouts and one walk.

It stayed that way until the bottom of the eighth.  The North All-Stars got after Shuckers pitcher Damien Magnifico.  He gave up 4 hits and 3 runs in one-third inning and led 8-0.

The North would score one more run and ran up a 9-0 victory.

Biloxi pitcher Tyler Wagner pitching an inning.  The North All-Stars had 2 hits against Wagner.  Austin Ross, the former LSU Tiger, pitched two-thirds of an inning and tossed 2 strikeouts and didn't give up a hit.

Two other Shuckers pitchers saw action.  In two-thirds of an inning Brooks Hall tossed one strikeout and two hits.

Hobbs Johnson also pitched two-thirds of an inning and walked a batter with no hits.

In the batting department Adam Weisenburger of the Shuckers had one hit in one trip to the plate. Two other Biloxi players went hitless.  Orlando Arcia went 0 for 3 and Michael Reed came up hitless in 2 at-bats.

Jose Berrios posted the win for the North All-Stars.  He pitched an inning, struck out two batters and gave up one hit.

Adam Brett Walker of the Chattanooga Lookouts won the All-Star Home Run Derby.  Biloxi Shuckers first baseman Nick Ramirez was one of six players who participated in the long ball showcase.
