Developer Must Once Again Delay Plans To Cut Trees

A developer's plans to build apartments on Oakwood Drive in Biloxi are once again on hold, despite the approval Thursday of the Biloxi Planning Commission .

Planning Director Ed Shambra says a resident who lives in the neighborhood has filed an appeal of Thursday's vote by the planning commission.

The commission voted to allow the developer to take down seven protected trees to build almost 30 apartments. But Shambra says the appeal stalls those plans, and the city council will hear the appeal before any further action is taken.
