JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Surveillance videos posted to social media websites led to the arrest of a suspected Jackson County burglar Friday night.

Sheriff Mike Ezell said 44-year-old Christopher Kevin Newton, of D'Iberville, is charged in connection to at least one St. Martin home burglary, and more charges and arrests could come.

Ezell said Newton was identified as a suspect after a homeowner on Old Biloxi Road posted surveillance video to several social media websites. Within two hours of the postings, several people came forward with tips identifying Newton.

Newton is accused of stealing several TVs, gaming systems and hand guns from the St. Martin home.

Gulfport police received a tip Friday saying Newton was staying at a hotel in their city. Newton was arrested and charged with felony burglary. He is being held at the Jackson County Jail without bond.

Newton faces up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted.
