The Biloxi Shuckers saw two of their top players be promoted to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
The Milwaukee Brewers sent outfielder Kyle Wren and right handed pitcher Hiram Burgos to Colorado. 24-year-old Wren got the call up. He was named a midseason Southern League All-Star after batting .300 in 60 games, six doubles, 13 RBI, 20 stolen bases and a .370 on-base percentage.
Wren had 12 multi-hit games in his last 19. Since June, the West Palm Beach, native batted .397 and had a .435 on-base percentage. Wren was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in 2013 in the 8th round after an outstanding college career at George Tech.
27-year-old Burgos went 3-0 with a 3.68 ERA in five starts with the Shuckers. He had 36 strikeouts and 12 walks over 29.1 innings pitched.
The Brewers transferred outfielder Victor Roache from A+ Brevard County to Biloxi and right handed pitcher Martin Viramontes from Rookie-Helena to the Shuckers.
Before being reassigned, Viramontes made 15 appearances with Biloxi and posted no record with an ERA of 8.58.
The Shuckers return to the playing field at MGM Park for a five-game home stand beginning Wednesday at 7:10 hosting the Montgomery Biscuits.
