JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Children in Jackson and George Counties will soon have more school supplies to help them make the grade. The United Way "Stuff the Bus" campaign begins Monday, June 15.

Walmart stores in Jackson and George Counties will be collecting donations. You can also drop off donations at any Singing River Federal Credit Union or Navigator Credit Union locations. The drive will run through July 31.

Stuff the Bus partners would like to challenge the community to rally friends, co-workers and neighbors to collect pencils, pens, spiral notebooks, notebook paper, markers, scissors, pocket folders, three-ring binders, colored pencils, glue sticks, rulers and other items in support of this school supply drive.

A list of the items needed will be posted at each participating location and can also be found on

"There are many children whose families may not be able to provide everything their child needs for school and that many teachers reach deep into their pockets each year in an attempt to provide for those children, this is our way to step up to help our community," said Carolyn Moore, Chief Executive Officer for United Way for Jackson and George Counties.
